The cricket fans of Kolkata still remembers the match – DC Vs KKR held under IPL 2010 in which Kolkata Knight Riders won over Deccan Chargers by 24 runs. KKR took 161/4 in 20 overs and Angelo Mathews was declared Player of the Match. Though KKR had a good start of the season they could not make it to the semi-finals.

In IPL season 2009, Deccan Chargers defeated Kolkata Knight Riders in both the matches at Cape Town and Johannesberg.

In IPL season 2008, Deccan Chargers lost to Kolkata Knight Riders in both the matches.

In 2009 also KKR could not make it to the semi-finals since they lost 10 out of 14 matches. In 2008 edition also, KKR could not reach the semi-finals though they were favorites.

The international players in the team are Eoin Morgan, Shakib AL Hasan, Jacques Kallis, Ryan ten Doeschate, Brad Haddin, Brett Lee and James Pattinson.

Deccan Chargers could not reach the semi finals in season 2008 of IPL However, in season 2009, they put a superb performance under the leadership of Adam Gilchrist and lifted the IPL trophy after defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore. But, they could not defend the trophy in season 2010 of IPL since they lost the semi-finals against Chennai Super Kings.
